Chemistry: We have been wrapping up the Colorimetry Experiment. Once we are done with that we will likely start getting ready for the Final Exam. Information about the exam will be discussed in class today.
Physical Science: We are finishing the building of the rockets today. We will be flying them on Tuesday, weather permitting. the Rocket Journals will be due on Wednesday June 1. This includes the conclusion essays about Newtons Laws and Energy of the rocket. That portion is 25% of the total grade.
Also Final Exam information will be given out today. Students are allowed to write notes on the Test Cover Page, which they will also receive. They are only allowed to write on the front page, and only below the page break.
A blog where you can find out what we are doing in class, what homework is due, and odds and ends that might be interesting.

Physical Science: Today students got into groups to begin working on their Rockets. Each group needs to come up with $5 to pay to the Tech Ed. fund, which provided the materials. They should have completed Day 3 of their Journal today.
Chemistry: We learned how to use the colorimeter. Wednesday we will look over the data collected and figure out what it all means.

Chemistry: Yesterday students began working on a 2 part experiment called Colorimetry. The first part, called "How Blue Is It?" had students figuring out a procedure on how to find the concentration of an unknown blue solution, using only a small set of equipment and a 2 Molar stock solution. Today we will discuss the results of the lab and then see where things take us.
Physical Science: We will be continuing discussion on Rockets. Yesterday was Day 1 in their journals. This entry should include all notes pertaining to Basics of Rocketry. Today, Day 2, should include notes on Center of Mass, Center of Pressure, and calculations of Apogee.
Physics and AP Chemsitry: As these classes have ended, there will be no more posts about these courses.

Physics: We went over Momentum WS#2 in class. Tomorrow we will go over material for the final exam.
AP Chemistry: Today was our last class. Students do not have to attend class during finals, if they have turned in all materials for the course.
Chemistry: We continued work on the Micro Mole Rockets. Tomorrow all students will be taking the Matter Concept Inventory, which was a diagnostic students took at the start of the year. Seniors will be taking the final exam on Wednesday.
Physical Science: I passed out progress reports today, and all missing work is due on Wednesday. Work not turned in will be considered a zero. Also, any students with text books are to return them this week. Atom models that were built back in November will also be taken down on Friday.
Today we began the Rocket unit by watching the movie October Sky. We will be watching this over the next few days, and then going over the entire project on Wednesday.

Physics: We looked at how momentum is conserved in collisions. I did a few example problems from tomorrow assignment.
AP Chem: We cleaned up the lab today.
Chemistry: We began collecting data for the Micro Mole Rockets.
Physical Science: the last few days has been spent looking at simple machines. We did a lab dealing with pulleys on Tuesday, and then inclined planes yesterday. Today we looked at generalizing simple machines, and why they make work easier. Tomorrow students will watch a presentation on simple machines, and then get an assignment which will be due on Monday.

Physics and AP Chemsitry: Due to the AP Biology Exam today, there was only one student in each section. We will pick up with new material in both classes tomorrow.
Chemistry: Students watched an episode of Mythbusters today. Tomorrow, students who missed the exam last Friday will take it in class. Students who have already taken the test, will use the time like a study hall.
Physical Science: Today we took the Unit 13 Exam on Energy. Students who were gone on Friday, will have until the end of the day on Wednesday to make up the exam during a study hall. Arrangements should be made with me ahead of time, or Mrs. Hoffman, who will be in for me on May 10.

If you are regular viewers of this blog, you may have noticed that I have missed a few posts recently. Please remember that as I am coaching golf this spring, there are days that I am not here, and thus do not post. If anything important is missed as a result, I will include in the post the next day.
